Getting started
This page contains quick step-to-step instructions on how to install ST-DOS and lEEt/OS and go online with it.
Installing ST-DOS
The first thing you need to do is installing ST-DOS. Without its DOS kernel lEEt/OS will not work. The install procedure
goes like this:
1. Download a bootable disk image.
2. Transfer the filesystem from the image file to a physical media.
- If you are using a USB storage device, you can use dd (Linux) or Rufus (Windows).
- If you are using an optical disk, you can use any CD burning program that can create CDs from raw ISO images.
- If you are using a floppy disk, you can use dd (Linux). New versions of Windows cannot copy filesystems anymore,
so you cannot create bootable floppies with them.
3. Boot from the media and run SETUP.COM from the root directory. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Installing lEEt/OS
Now you can proceed on installing lEEt/OS.
4. Run INSTALL.COM from the LEETOS\ directory. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Installing TCP/IP stack
Now you can install the TCP/IP stack.
5. Run NETINST.COM from the LEETOS\ directory on the install media. Follow the instructions on the screen.
6. Find a packet driver for your network adapter. Copy it to your hard drive and make sure that it is loaded
before TCP.EXE.
