Standard lEEt/OS computer
1. Desktop version
Case
The case is a standard desktop model AT compatible computer case. The front panel
has a power button, a reset button and a green power light. It has two 3,5"
expansion slots and three 5,25" slots. One of the 5,25" slots is populated with
a cover that has a red HDD light and connectors for line out and microphone.
Motherboard
The motherboard is a backing plate with eight (8) ISA slots and one special slot
for the CPU card.
CPU
The base model has one CPU card with a 8 MHz 8088 compatible CPU.

Memory
The base model has 640 kB of memory.
I/O
Two serial ports and one parallel port. DIN connector for a keyboard.
A sturdy barrel jack power connector. A VGA connector for a display.

PC speaker and a sound blaster compatible sound card.
Network
Ethernet adapter with an RJ45 connector.
Graphics
The base model has a VGA compatible graphics adapter.
Power supply
Internal transformer-regulator power supply with the form factor of a standard AT
power supply.
2. Laptop version
Case
A foldable 14" monochrome LCD display with a resolution of 640x480 pixels and
amber backlight. The back side of the display has a pivoted solar panel. The
case has no power light - the physical position of the power switch shows when
the power is on.
CPU
One low-power 8088 compatible CPU with a default clock speed of 4,77 MHz. Can be
slowed down to achieve a better battery life.
Storage

Memory
The base model has 640 kB of memory.
I/O
Two serial ports and one parallel port. DIN connector for an external keyboard.
A sturdy barrel jack power connector. A VGA connector for an external display.
The motherboard has a riser with one ISA slot.
Sound
PC speaker.
Network
Ethernet adapter with an RJ45 connector.
Batteries
Two banks of 5 rechargeable AA batteries in series.
Power supply
External transformer-regulator. Connects to the case with a barrel plug.
Power consumption and battery life
In daylight conditions the system should be usable with solar power while also
recharging the batteries. In dark conditions the battery life should be at least
20 hours.
3. Luggable version
Case
A "luggable" computer case with a monochrome amber-backlit flat panel display
and a pivoted keyboard that covers the display in its closed position. One
5,25" extension slot on the right side. The front panel has power and reset
buttons, a green power light and a red HDD light.

Motherboard
A two-sided PCB with two ISA slots on the other side and one ISA slot and a
CPU card slot on the other side. Otherwise the internals are the same as in the
desktop version.
